Can DefendX work with different fire alarm panel brands?
Yes. DefendX Node interfaces with standard Fire, Fault and Supervisory relay contacts and does not normally require the proprietary communication protocol of the fire alarm panel.
Does the system require internet access?
No. Core monitoring, physical indication, relay operation and event recording operate within the local Ethernet network.
How many panels can DefendX M32 monitor?
Up to 32 fire alarm panels using four monitored conditions per panel.
How many physical LED outputs are available?
DefendX M32 provides 128 individually programmable digital LED outputs.
How many relay outputs are available?
It provides 16 programmable volt-free changeover relay outputs.
Can multiple users monitor the system?
Yes. Multiple authorized browser clients and display units can monitor the same live status over the LAN.
How long are events recorded?
The system retains at least 45 days of rolling status and event records, subject to the configured storage policy.
What happens when a Node goes offline?
The affected panel is shown as Offline. Its last valid data is marked as stale, a communication fault is generated and the event is recorded.
Can relay logic be programmed?
Yes. Relay outputs can be assigned to individual panels, groups, common conditions and configurable cause-and-effect rules.
Does DefendX replace the fire alarm control panel?
No. DefendX is a supplementary monitoring, annunciation, recording and auxiliary output-control platform. It does not replace the primary approved fire alarm control panel.
